Start a Squad in Your City

Don’t see your city?

Start a squad in your city

Every one of our twelve squads started with one dad who said he’d show up. If your city isn’t on the list yet, that dad could be you. Here’s exactly what it means, what you get from us, and how you share in what your squad builds.

Why this matters

Every dad needs a few guys close to home

Most men don’t decide to become isolated. It happens slowly: a move, a new baby, a job that eats the week, friends who drift a few exits away. One day you realize there’s nobody nearby you’d call at 10 p.m. A squad in your city changes that for every dad around you.

The need

Ask most dads how many guys they could call at 10 p.m. and the honest answer is short. We have coworkers, neighbors we wave to, and a group chat from years ago, but not many men who actually know what we’re carrying.

Nobody sets out to be alone. Life just fills up, friendships fade quietly, and most men are too proud to say they miss it.

The impact

One standing night a month in your city reaches the dad who just moved here, the one with a newborn and no sleep, the one who lost his job on a Tuesday and hasn’t told anyone yet.

When those men have a table to sit at, they become better husbands, fathers and friends. Their kids grow up watching their dad have real friends.

The heart

Dad Squad was never meant to be one big DFW group. The metroplex is millions of people and a lot of highway, and you can’t be there for a guy who lives forty minutes away.

Our hope is community in proximity: a squad in every city, so the dads you know by name are the dads who live down the street.

The goal isn’t a bigger group. It’s a table in every city.

The metro-wide group is where dads find us. A city squad is where they actually get known: the same faces at the same spot, guys who notice when you’ve gone quiet, and neighbors who show up with a truck when you need one.

If your city doesn’t have that yet, you could be the one who starts it. It doesn’t take a big personality or a lot of time, just a dad who’s willing to show up first.

The role

What a squad leader does

You’re not running an organization. You’re the guy who makes sure the dads in your city have somewhere to go and somebody who knows their name.

Cultivate community

Welcome new dads, remember names, and notice when somebody goes quiet. The squad is the people, not the events.

Host one event a month

One standing night in your city each month: a dinner, a cookout, a watch party. Others can host more with the event builder, but one is yours.

Moderate your city’s group

Keep your city’s Facebook group welcoming and on track. Post the events, answer questions, and keep it a place dads want to be.

Find more leaders

Spot the dads who keep showing up and give them something to own: a monthly night, a service project, a new corner of your city.

You’re not on your own

What you get from us

The name and the brand

Dad Squad for your city, with the look, the voice and the reputation that comes with it.

Your spot on the site

Your squad on Find Your Squad and the calendar, plus the event builder and flyers for every event.

The hub behind you

Your events promoted to DFW Dad Squad, the metro-wide group, so your first night doesn’t start from zero.

Other leaders

The city leaders in one group chat, and help from someone who has done it when you’re getting the first night off the ground.

Share in what you build

Earn when your city grows

Local businesses are what keep Dad Squad free for every dad. As a squad leader, you share in the revenue when you bring businesses in your city on board.

DadSquad+ locations

Restaurants, venues and family spots where DadSquad+ pass holders get a perk, and where your squad gathers. Bring one on and you share in that revenue.

Preferred partners

The trades and services dads in your city already need: the lawn guy, the mover, the roofer. Bring one on and you share in that revenue too.

We walk through exactly how the revenue share works on your first call.

Getting started

How it works

  1. Join the hub

Join DFW Dad Squad on Facebook. It’s step one for every dad, and it’s where you’ll see how the other squads run.

  2. Tell us about your city

Fill out the short form below. It takes about a minute.

  3. Talk it through

A Dad Squad leader reaches out, answers your questions and walks you through the role and the revenue share.

  4. Put the first night on the calendar

We help you pick a place and a date, set up your city’s group, and get the word out.

Questions

Before you ask

Do I need experience leading a group?

No. If you can pick a place, show up first and introduce two guys to each other, you can do this. We help with the rest.

How much time does it take?

One event a month, plus keeping an eye on your city’s group. You can do more as your squad grows and other dads step up, but that’s the commitment.

What if only a few dads show up at first?

That’s how every squad starts. Three dads at a table is a squad. Keep the night on the calendar and it grows.
