James Deems is Dad Squad's preferred partner for education. Smarter By 1 Degree is an online, self-paced high school program that pairs with a bachelor's degree, so students can finish both years ahead of their peers and without the debt.
Every class counts for high school and college credit at the same time. Lessons are short videos, quizzes and mastery-based work students move through at their own pace, which the team says works well for kids with ADHD and dyslexia. There's no ACT or SAT prep needed for the degree track, and students can start any time of year.
Classes run as low as $299 each, all-inclusive with no textbook fees, and ESA School Choice scholarships are accepted for the teen program. Advising, guidance counseling and degree planning with partner universities are part of it, and the first consultation is free.
Smarter By 1 Degree offers college advising and degree planning for partner universities. It is not a college or university and does not itself confer degrees or award credit.
